The origin

It starts with light, it lets me discover the photo that was there all along.

After a thunderstorm sunbeams came through the ominous clouds above Santorini archipelago. A striking pattern of light and shades occurred and lit the isles in the distance beautifully.

In the Yonghe Temple, located in the old heart of Beijing, devotees lit incense sticks to ask the gods for favors. Through the backlight, I watched the incense rise from the burner, on its way to the gods.
